Spending Halloween in the Village watching drag queens and crazies prance around in costumes protesting Bush, followed by running into Kim Opp dressed as Buzz Lightyear in a bar in Montville: priceless
Halloween in my favorite holiday. Ever.
Well...I really like Chanukah. |

| I don't feel like updating, Lins-day. update: WPU has decided to eliminate the theatre program, effective immediately. That's about all I have to say for now. And also that WPU is a whales vagina and a dirty pirate hooker. with and undetected case of chlamydia. :) |

| Everyone expected House Republicans to give up efforts to kill NPR and PBS after a massive public outcry stopped them last year. But they've just voted to eliminate funding for NPR and PBS—unbelievably, starting with programs like "Sesame Street."
Public broadcasting would lose nearly a quarter of its federal funding this year. Even worse, all funding would be eliminated in two years--threatening one of the last remaining sources of watchdog journalism.
Sign the petition telling Congress to save NPR and PBS again this year:
http://civic.moveon.org/publicbroadcasting/
Last year, millions of us took action to save NPR and PBS, and Congress listened. We can do it again if enough of us sign the petition in time.
This would be the most severe cut in the history of public broadcasting. The Boston Globe reports the cuts "could force the elimination of some popular PBS and NPR programs." NPR's president expects rural public radio stations may be forced to shut down.
The House and Senate are deciding if public broadcasting will survive, and they need to hear from viewers like you. Sign the petition at:

Thanks!

| I'm taking an online course for summer session one - Human Sexuality - and it's really easy and silly, seeing as it's all basically information I already know. However, I have learned how awful people can be, and it's really upsetting. I always just assume people are as open minded as I am (even though I know they're not), and when they're not, they just sort of keep it to themselves. But ooo no no no. All of the homework is just responding to certain questions and finishing sentences with your opinion. The first week, there was a "finish this sentence" question, and the question was "When I think of two men getting married, I feel...". You would not believe how many people wrote how they would feel disgusted, and how unlawful and terrible and vulgar it is. Someone actually threw in religious text to back up the idea of how wrong it is. In fact, I'd say 9 out of the 16 people in my class had responses like these - and I wanted to throw up. Who's business is it what people do in their homes? Why does it matter the sex of a persons spouse, so long as they are happy together? If someone can find happiness in this life, what does it matter with whom it is, and who's business is it to care?
Maybe it's because I was exposed to all of this at a young age. Maybe it's because I have hippie liberal parents. Maybe it's because I do theatre, I don't know. But the fact that Bush is trying to outlaw gay marriage completely disturbs me to my complete and utter core.
And p.s. - there are rumors about Jed Bush running for next term? Just thought I'd throw that out there.
DAMN that was political.
